Reservoir Vs. Fragment: What’s the Difference?
Hey there! This was my most common question from beta readers, and I did a lot of work to try to clarify this in The Cult of Anick series, but in case I didn’t quite get there, here it is. Fragment is pure energy, but you can think of it like water that needs a container to be held.
A reservoir is that container, and it comes in different sizes—lesser, greater, or ascendant. You can have a lesser reservoir, which is like trying to drink water out of a thimble. You might be able to get a little, but it’s not doing much of anything. A greater reservoir is like having an actual water glass to drink out of, or even a bucket (there are a range of sizes, but if you can get a good drink, then it’s a greater reservoir). An ascendant reservoir is like having a water hose. You can drink out of it, sure, but the key is that it never runs out. An ascendant reservoir has been linked to the actual source of fragmental energy, and acts more like a conduit than a container.
Hope this helps!
